Chelsea Scott, Registered Massage Therapist
Chelsea graduated from Medix (Westervelt) College in 2016 in Kitchener, Ontario after achieving her 2200-hour Massage Therapy Diploma. She has been in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta since moving to Calgary in 2017. She became an RMT to have the flexibility around other aspects of life. Chelsea has specialized in children’s massage (age 6 to 18), headache/migraine relief and maintenance, hot stone massage, upper body maintenance, TMJ therapy, pre and post natal massage, and Swedish relaxation massage. Chelsea’s approach is usually moderate pressure, but will accommodate the client's needs, based on assessment, and will go deeper or lighter if needed or requested. Your treatment will leave you relaxed, will decrease your pain, and will improve overall health and quality of life.
When Chelsea is away from the clinic she is often doing outdoor activities with friends and family, along with her dog Parker.
Katherine Schneider, Registered Massage Therapist
Katherine holds a 2200 hour diploma and is a Registered Massage Therapist with the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta. Her goal is to help you decrease your stress and pain as well as to improve your overall well being and physical health. She is able to achieve this by tailoring each treatment to the client's specific needs using a combination of techniques.
As Katherine progresses in her career, she aims to add on additional modalities such as Myofascial Cupping and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Noreen (Ping) Li, Registered Massage Therapist
Ping graduated from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in 2017. She is an active member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. Ping became a registered massage therapist to help people to be healthier. She is trained in Swedish massage, relaxation massage, therapeutic massage, and prenatal. She focuses on full body massage.
When Ping is not working, she enjoys reading and playing with her children.
Coralie MacIntyre, Registered Massage Therapist
Coralie has a degree in kinesiology, and graduated with her 2200 hour massage therapy diploma from the Professional Institute of Massage in December 2018. She is an active member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). Throughout her education, she has gained knowledge and skill in gross anatomy, pathophysiology, sports massage, hydrotherapy, and massage theory.
Coralie grew up very involved with sports which led her to having an interest in various therapies. She chose massage therapy due to its personalized treatment, and one on one time spent with the client. She firmly believes having more time allows for the therapist to determine the client’s needs and pinpoint the best techniques to use for each treatment. Coralie's treatment styles include: Swedish/deep tissue, therapeutic/remedial, pre/post natal, sports massage, and myofascial release techniques.
Erin Hubbell, Registered Massage Therapist
Erin graduated with her 2200 hour Massage Therapy Diploma from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in July 2019, and is an active member of the Massage Therapists Association of Alberta (MTAA). Erin became a Registered Massage Therapist to help society to relax, and to further her understanding of body mechanics while she completes her acupuncture training. Erin has training in Swedish massage, cupping, Guasha, and reflexology. Erin describes her style of treatment as more relaxation while finding issues and resolving them. She is especially interested in treating neck, shoulder and hip pain.
Erin loves spending time in the kitchen. She is a homebody who spends her free time (when not studying to become a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine) with her husband, son and their pets.
Sara Thompson, Registered Massage Therapist
Sara graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy with her 2200 hour diploma in May 2019 and is an active member of the Massage Therapists Association of Alberta. Sara decided she wanted to make a career change when she was laid off from the banking industry. She wanted to change from a desk job to something more active that really helped people. When she was younger, she wanted to work in health care and so decided that being a Massage Therapist was where she needed to be, not only to live her best life, but also to help others on their own journey to wellness.
Sara is trained in Relaxation and Therapeutic massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, and prenatal massage. Sara’s style of treatment is a combination of relaxation and therapeutic massage. She plans to take further course work in Aromatherapy and Myofascial Cupping in the near future.
When Sara is not working, she loves spending with her family and friends, being outdoors, attending concerts, doing arts & crafts, and reading and sipping a nice cup of tea!
Anita Mergl, Registered Massage Therapist
Anita successfully completed the 3000-Hour RMT advanced clinical massage therapy program at Makami College and is a member at CRMTA. She is passionate about her work and enjoys working as a team to help treat and heal her clients, allowing them to feel not only good physically but as well mentally about themselves and their body, improving their day to day lives.
Anita is highly skilled in therapeutic deep tissue massage, as well as advanced techniques including myofascial cupping, trigger point therapy, stretching and neuromuscular therapy. Being a mother, she is comfortable and trained to provide prenatal massage. She also offers a soothing hot stone massage, for anyone who needs to relax and take away that stress. Anita believes investing your time in your health through massage therapy increases a lifetime of happiness and longevity.
Anita enjoys the outdoors, sports and spending time with family.
Lauren "LJ" Jozwiak, Registered Massage Therapist
Lauren “LJ” graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in May 2019, and is an active member of the MTAA. LJ became a Registered Massage Therapist because she has always been interested in anatomy, physiology and rehabilitation from illness/injury. Although she comes from a corporate background, human sciences have always been something she was passionate about. LJ suffered a knee injury and rehabilitation led her to realize she wanted to explore massage therapy.
LJ is trained in trigger point release, relaxation massage, MFR, sprain/strain, chair massage, and pre-natal massage. She believes strongly in therapeutic massage as an evidence-based treatment for many ailments. She has a particular interest in being able to help someone get back to their pre-injury status. LJ takes a lot of pride in having clients leave the treatment session feeling better than they did coming in. Whether it is a relaxation massage or a therapeutic treatment, LJ believes homecare and remedial exercises are an important part of client care, and her treatments reflect that. LJ adapts her style to the suit the client while effectively addressing any concerns. LJ’s future goals are to become certified in both Graston technique and ART (Active Release Technique) to add another level to her treatments.
LJ is originally from Winnipeg MB, however Calgary has been her home to since 2008. LJ loves animals, and currently owns 2 Shiba Inus. In her spare time, she regularly enjoys both barre and yoga classes, boxing workout (no sparring!), gym activities, and will be training in the upcoming year for a few runs.
LJ and her husband enjoy going to the movies, taking their dogs for long walks and completing projects around the home.
Carmen Anderson, Registered Massage Therapist
Carmen is a graduate from Makami College, and has attained her 3000 hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy Diploma. She is an active member of the CRMTA.
Carmen was ready for a different career. After working at a desk job for years she wanted to be active and helping people. After competing in a body building competition, she was interested in learning more about the body. This lead her to Massage Therapy and she was instantly in love with her new career choice.
Carmen has training in Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage, Prenatal Massage, Orthopedic Assessment, Advanced Neurological Techniques, Myofascial Cupping, Stretching, and Hot Stone Massage. Her usual treatment style is therapeutic massage with moderate to deep pressure, however, she can modify her style and pressure to meet her clients’ preferences and needs.
In her free time you will find her spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys riding horses and camping.
Jacob Skarra, Registered Massage Therapist
Jacob attained his 2200 hour massage therapy diploma from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in Saskatoon in 2017, and is an active member of CMMOTA. Jacob became a Registered Massage Therapist because he wanted a career where he was helping people to feel more comfortable in their bodies and to live to their highest potential. Jacob is certified in cupping, and is also a yoga teacher. He is presently attending school for Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jacob’s treatment style is deep tissue/therapeutic, slowly warming up muscles, and gradually getting deeper, based on the client’s comfort level.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys hiking, canoeing, yoga, cooking, and continuing to study anatomy.
Kate Lucon, Registered Massage Therapist
Kate graduated from Makami College in 2017 with her 3000 hour Massage Therapy diploma, and is an active member of CRMTA. Kate uses a variety of therapeutic massage techniques such as deep tissue, soft tissue, myofascial release, trigger points, PNF stretching, lymphatic drainage and pre-natal massage.
Kate chose the massage profession to help people recover from their injuries and pains. She is happy when she sees success in helping people overcome some of their on-going muscular pain, chronic pain, postural dysfunction, stress and strain, and that she helped promote healing, leaving them with a more functional and relaxed body. Kate finds fulfillment in knowing she was able to assist her clients to feel better and have a better outlook in life.
Christopher (Chris) Hubbard, Registered Massage Therapist
Christopher (Chris) graduated in 2005 from the Foothills College of Massage Therapy with his 2200 hour diploma. He is an active member of the National Health Practitioners of Canada. Chris became a Registered Massage Therapist because he has an empathetic, caring nature with a high interest in healing arts, health and wellness. Chris was led to massage therapy by a desire to treat a person’s ailments, nurture health and wellbeing, and improve quality of life. Chris is trained in deep tissue and Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, and hot stone massage. Chris also attained a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Mount Royal University. Chris describes his treatment style as a high customized, client specific blend of myofascial, deep tissue and lymphatic work, using medical knowledge and a healing intention as a framework to promote healing and wellness.
During his spare time, Chris loves gardening, hiking, geology, and being in nature.
Jose Navarro, Registered Massage Therapist
Jose has been a Massage Therapist for over 10 yrs, five of which were in Mexico prior to moving to Calgary. After he moved to Calgary, he completed his Emergency Medical Response Certificate, and then went on to complete the 3000 hour massage therapy program at Makami College in 2016. He is an active member of CRMTA. While at Makami College, he attained the award for most requested student therapist at the student clinic. Jose’s massage therapy career has focused on therapeutic massage within chiropractic clinics. He successfully treats a variety of conditions and injuries, and has experience working with athletes.
Jose loves spending his free time with his daughter. He likes to keep learning, improving and refining his massage techniques for his clients’ treatments.
