Excellence in Research and Interpretive Studies Annual Competition

This competition, co-sponsored by Massage Addict, offers students a unique opportunity to showcase their ability to engage and interpret existing research, as it relates to the profession of massage therapy.

Guidelines for Research Papers

The Award

This award recognizes the student’s ability to engage in (Case Study) or interpret existing research (Literature Review). It does not require specific research activity by the student.

In establishing this award, the CCMTS encourages its member schools and students to engage in the practice of research and interpretive studies and to experience the benefits of critical evaluation, as it relates to the profession of massage therapy.

This unique showcase will recognize and reward the student (or group of students) who most effectively engage and interpret existing professional massage therapy research through critical evaluation.

The winning paper will be recognized and published on the CCMTS website. In addition, awards will be given to the top three papers.

  • First Place: $2,000 honorarium & commemorative plaque
  • Second Place: $1,000 honorarium
  • Third Place: $600 honorarium
