Continuing Education

We survey therapists who practice at Massage Addict at least once a year. It’s important for us to know what we are doing well, and how we can improve. In a recent survey, we asked whether continuing education was important. The answer was a resounding "yes".

With this in mind, we formed a partnership with an organization called Dexterity Professional Development which has an online learning platform geared towards massage therapists. You can see the courses, and an overview of the online learning opportunities by visiting: https://dexteritypd.com. 

This partnership provides continuing education opportunities for all therapists practicing at Massage Addict for free. You can take as many courses as you wish; your access is unlimited.

There are 17 professional development courses available, with more being added quarterly, all written by instructors from Massage Therapy schools.

The courses range in topics including Advanced Treatment Techniques, Anatomy & Physiology, Assessments, Business, Perinatal, Complementary Modalities and Therapeutic Exercise. You will receive a certificate of completion for each course you finish.

For Ontario RMTs:
Under the new Quality Assurance Program (STRiVE), the CMTO no longer preapproves courses for fulfilling professional development requirements. The online learning platform provides a helpful breakdown of how each course relates to the STRiVE competencies for inclusion in your specific learning plan.

For RMTs in other Provinces:
Dexterity Professional Development submits applications to regulatory bodies and associations on a rolling basis. As courses receive approvals, this is updated on each individual course page.

For Acupuncturists / Chiropractors:
All therapists at Massage Addict, including Chiropractors, Acupuncturists and Reflexologists have access to the Dexterity Online Learning platform. The courses range in difficulty, and also topics; Anatomy to Therapeutic Exercise.

Additionally, our in-house training and tuition reimbursement programs help support learning and development throughout your entire career with Massage Addict.

While we currently have robust continuing education programs for Massage Therapists practicing at Massage Addict, we are continually listening to the needs of our therapists and are reviewing additional opportunities for advanced learning.
